EMERGENCY FLOOD RELIEF FOR HOUSELESS WASHOE RESIDENTS

  • Community Resource Center 335 Record Street Reno, NV, 89501 United States (map)

FROM ARIA OVERLI WITH ACTIONN -

Many of our houseless neighbors have made their homes along the river, and are currently at threat from flooding. There is a desperate need for volunteers to help warn people and help evacuate them. Find more information below if you are available tomorrow afternoon to help out.

"There will be a group of folks doing coordinated outreach tomorrow to evacuate our vulnerable friends by the river. It is supposed to rapidly flood and folks camping by the river could be swept away. Emergency services may not be able to get to them due to all of the bridges being closed. We need people tomorrow! We are meeting at the CAC tomorrow at 1 pm to break into teams and get people to emergency shelters at Wooster H.S. and Sparks H.S. Pets are welcome and belongings will be bagged, tagged, and stored. Please contact me with any questions llee@nnhopes.org or 775-737-3175. Thank you beautiful people!"
