3 to 5 MINUTES - CALL TO ACTION FOR CLEAN ENERGY - CITY OF RENO MEETING TOMORROW AT NOON IS WHEN THEY VOTE

Make Your Voice Heard! Do you like high paying jobs? Understand Nevada should be leveraging Solar and Geothermal? Well, it's time to walk the walk! (Comment Done when you've completed it and share please)

Please fill out this form today and ask the City of Reno's Council to vote to support the recommendations made by the Governor's New Energy Industry Task Force. The Council votes tomorrow (Jan. 11)!

This should only take you 5 minutes or so, but will help Nevada create jobs in energy efficiency, distributed solar, geothermal power, batteries, electric vehicles, and other clean energy technologies essential to Nevada's sustainable economic development!

Here is my comment:

Reno's mission is to create a community that people are proud to call home. I am very proud to call this city my lifelong home, yet it amazes me we aren't on the leading edge of renewables with the resources we have. Along with geothermal pioneers like the Peppermill Spa and Casino and local solar companies like Hamilton Solar, we should stand with them and others by joining SPINN.

Renewable energy offers high-wage, high economic impact careers people can be proud to build their livelihood around. It allows high power costs to come down to a manageable rate for our lower income citizens, and it aligns with the priorities you have laid out for the city as well.

Please stand with your constituents and join SPINN.

Other example reasons you can add to your comment:

1) Jobs: High wage, high impact - Renewable energy is the future and allows our region to diversify our job market with high wage, high impact jobs people can create a solid middle class and above life with.

2) Diversifying our economy along with limiting the amount of energy that has to be imported into the state for Reno residents. We currently import our energy from other states which costs billions. Yet we have a two powerful alternatives to this. Solar and Geothermal. Let's leverage those and create a stronger economy

3) Cheaper, cleaner solution: Our lower income families are crippled by high energy costs when we have a solution to trim the bills and help them.

*There are so many other reasons but those are a few of the top ones that should be enough for the city to align with SPINN.
